Lions Quest is a life-skills program of the Lions Clubs International Foundation for the youth. With the proper implementation of the Lions Quest program in schools by teachers who have undergone the teachers training workshop, it hopes to impart social and emotional skills to young people for them to make the right choices…all the time. But the real success of the Lions Quest program lies with the collaborative effort and support of the community, school and family.
To learn more about Lions Quest program and eventually implement it in their respective communities, club presidents of the Lions Clubs from Multiple District 301-D2 trooped to the 5th Floor of the Harvester Corporate Center in Cubao, Quezon City last October 5 and attended the seminar. Participants came from the different towns and cities in Metro Manila and nearby provinces like Pampanga, Bulacan, Bataan and Zambales.
The Lions Quest committee headed by chairperson Dr. Ma. Concepcion O. Pinlac and co-chaired by Ramon “Louie” Encarnacion, organized the seminar for the Lions with the purpose of promoting the Lions Quest program among their members.
Multiple District 301-D2 District Governor Benildo C. Cuerpo spoke on her firm belief in the Lions Quest program and her plan to expand it and include new schools. While Past District Governor Procopio Uy and Lion Manny Cuasay spoke on the history of the Lions Quest program in the Philippines and the district. The speakers also elaborated on the on-going program implementation in five public high schools, namely; Camp Emilio Aguinaldo, Juan Sumulong, Ponciano A. Bernardo, and Camp Crame in Quezon City and the Casimiro Ynares Sr. Memorial in Taytay, a town in the province of Rizal.
Lions Quest chairperson Ma. Concepcion O. Pinlac welcomed the participants and encouraged everyone to give their support to the Lions Quest program. Lion Louie Encarnacion gave a short talk on what the Lions Quest program is all about and why the Lions Clubs should support this initiative. While teacher Jet Gallecanao of the Juan Sumulong High School spoke on the Lions Quest program implementation in their school and how it has helped their students in terms of improved academic performance and character-building.
First Vice District Governor Santiago Lim and Second Vice District Governor Diosdado Dimacali were also on hand to give their fraternal messages and explained how the Lions Quest program can help the Filipino youth and the country in nation building.
The seminar program proper was handled by the emcee Past President Dr. Rollie Encarnacion of Quezon City Cubao Lions Club.
