The Cubao Lions Club Scholarship Foundation has been in existence for more than a decade, but its roots can be traced far back into the club’s infancy. During the term of Lion President Andy Dijuanco (LY 1975-’76), Lion Treasurer Ben Sanchez first conceived of the idea wherein all cash balances at the end of every Lion Year should go to a special fund of the club. Under this concept, an incoming administration shall have to start with a zero balance in its finances. The concept was approved and first implemented during the succeeding administration of Lion President Marte Iglesias. From then on, an incoming administration always had to raise its own funds to finance all club projects and activities. Number of Page Views :376The Quezon City Cubao Lions Club, together with the Batangas City Lions Club, BUKLURAN and People Helping People (PHP) Foundation, joined together in conducting a medical-dental mission and free eyeglass distribution at Barangay Poblacion in San Luis, Batangas, last November 10, 2007.
Recipients of the project were the indigent people of San Luis, Batangas.

The Quezon City Cubao Lions Club was organized by Lion Alfredo “Fred” Lingad, who was also the club charter president. The club was officially chartered on 16 May 1970. Its charter presentation and the induction of club officers was held on 19 August 1970. The club had 28 charter members, with Lion Querubin “Ben” Sanchez as the only charter member still remaining with the club. More »
